Oregon Taste is a public service project of James Beard Public Market. James Beard Public Market is a project of The Historic Portland Public Market Foundation, a 501(c)(3) State of Oregon non-profit organization. Its goal is to establish a year-round marketplace showcasing Oregon’s bounty of food and food products while promoting community health, rural and urban economic development, neighborhood revitalization, and tourism. As a result of the pandemic and physical slowdown of the marketplace the James Beard Public Market launched OregonTaste.com as a public service project. To learn more, visit www.jamesbeardmarket.com.
Our Oregon Taste Mission

Our Core Values

Economic Opportunity. Supporting food producers from across Oregon and the Pacific Northwest and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of food-related businesses and the jobs they create.
Equity and Social Responsibility. Acting with fairness for all and with a fundamental sense of responsibility towards our diverse and marginalized communities and our environment.
Education. Sharing knowledge of food, culinary heritage, and healthy eating through educational programs, cooking classes, and interaction among shoppers, farmers, producers, vendors, and chefs.
Why Oregon Taste?
One of the many things the COVID-19 pandemic has shown us all is that local food systems matter now more than ever. It is out of this increased need to connect more consumers to more local farms and the fresh, healthy foods they create that the idea for OregonTaste.com was born.

Today's version of the directory focuses on Oregon's local producers who sell fresh food directly to consumers--like farmers, fishers, ranchers, roadside stands, u-pick fields and orchards. Next Oregontaste.com will expand to include listings connecting to Oregon ventures which offer food products manufactured or processed in Oregon (like cheese!), wine, beer, spirits and other beverages, and listings of food events across the state.
