Oregon Taste

About This Directory

OregonTaste.com is an online searchable directory promoting Oregon’s local farm fresh foods and food businesses and connecting them directly to consumers. Oregon Taste's online directory is a public service project of James Beard Public Market, a 501(c)(3) State of Oregon nonprofit.

The goal of OregonTaste.com is to offer consumers a reliable and trusted source for connecting with Oregon's local farm fresh food producers who sell directly to consumers, whether on site or via delivery, u-pick, farm stand, CSA, farmers markets or online sales. We build Oregon Taste knowing that connecting Oregonians directly with the food growers, makers, sellers and food events in our bountiful state will contribute to more vibrant, sustainable and connected food systems throughout Oregon.

Oregon Taste is a public service project of James Beard Public Market. James Beard Public Market is a project of The Historic Portland Public Market Foundation, a 501(c)(3) State of Oregon non-profit organization. Its goal is to establish a year-round marketplace showcasing Oregon’s bounty of food and food products while promoting community health, rural and urban economic development, neighborhood revitalization, and tourism. As a result of the pandemic and physical slowdown of the marketplace the James Beard Public Market launched OregonTaste.com as a public service project.

Why Oregon Taste?

One of the many things the COVID-19 pandemic has shown us all is that local food systems matter now more than ever. It is out of this increased need to connect more consumers to more local farms and the fresh, healthy foods they create that the idea for OregonTaste.com was born.

How You Can Help Us Support Oregon's Food Systems

  1. By sharing OregonTaste.com with your network.
This will build awareness for the site among Oregon food providers and consumers.

  2. By submitting a listing for your fresh food producer business or one you know. First, search the site to see if your favorite farms and farmers markets are already in there. If not, use the Submit A Business feature to let us know.

This will help make them more discoverable to more consumers across Oregon.

  3. By sending us ideas for farm features on our social media posts.
Is there a farm, u-pick, orchard, ranch or farmers market vendor that you admire? Tell us about it.

What's Next?

The original launch of OregonTaste.com started with a focus on Oregon's local producers who sell fresh food directly to consumers--like farmers, fishers, ranchers, roadside stands, u-pick fields and orchards. It has since expand to include listings for Oregon food maker ventures which offer food products manufactured or processed in Oregon (like cheese!). Next OregonTaste.com will expand to include listings for Oregon's fantastic wine, beer, spirits and beverage businesses, and listings of food-loving events across the state.
